The Lemon Tetra is native to the Amazon River Basin. Specifically, in Brazil. It was introduced to the hobby in 1932 and has been a perennial favorite of aquatic enthusiasts ever since. In the wild, this fish is found in immense schools near shallow patches of aquatic vegetation. An excellent community tank inhabitant, this fish prefers to be kept in schools and also prefers a planted aquarium
