The Kribensis is a dwarf cichlid found in rivers and streams in West Africa. With a maximum length of 5", this is a mild mannered inhabitant with the exception of when breeding. It will become quite territorial. Parents provide excellent care for their young. Spawning usually takes place in a cave or flower pot. Another interesting fact about this fish is that during breeding , the females are the ones that color up with a spectacular rosey colored hue on their undersides. The males will display a very attractive yellow, to thier cheeks and doral fins but the females are the show stopper. Readily takes, flakes, pellets, live foods. A great addition to your aquarium.
