The Fahaka Puffer is a freshwater puffer native to the freshwater river basins in Africa, particularly the Nile River. In it's natural habitat, it is a solitary animal that feeds primarily on freshwater mussels, snails and clams. Growing to a length of about 18" it is a fish best suited to an aquarium where it is the sole occupant. Highly curious and possessed with a lot of personality they have become increasingly popular in the aquarium hobby.
