A stunning variation of an old favorite. These fish are omnivores and will eat a wide variety of foods. Flakes, pellets. brine shrimp, black worms, daphnia....they'll eat it all. A good community aquarium resident. Care should be taken to avoid fin nippers as neighbors because in spite of their reputation as fighting fish, they aren't very well equipped to defend themselves against faster more agile fish. (side note: they also come in an almost infinite array of color variations too!!)
