The Black Moor goldfish with it's jet black body and telescoping eyes has a fascinating history dating all the way back to the 9th century. developed through selective breeding from the Telescope Eye and the Ryunkin strain of goldfish in China, it remains one of the most popular varieties of ornamental goldfish. Long lived, up to 30 years and capable og growing to 7 or 8 inches, these fish are opportunistic omnivores. They will readily take pellets, flakes and live foods. Generally, a solid neighbor in a community aquarium, they are tolerant of lower temperatures. Per body size, they also generate large amounts of ammonia so quality filtration is a must.
