The Albino Tiger Oscar isa stunning selectively bred variant of the common Oscar. Wide spread throughout the Amazon River basin, it's natural habitat are the slower moving white water sections of the Amazon and it's tributaries. An incredibly intelligent cichlid with an extremely outgoing personality, they are one of the most popular cichlids in the aquatic fish keeping hobby. These omnivores will grow to about 12" to 14" in captivity. Their diet consists of other smaller fish, crayfish, other invertabrates, insects, worms and different fruits and nuts as are seasonably available. They also require a reliable source of Vitamin C to maintain optimum health. In captivity, crickets, mealworms and available feeder fish are the mainstays of its diet. Not overly aggressive by cichlid standards, they are best suited to larger aquariums with similarly sized tankmates. They are truly an enjoyable fish to have in your collection.
